Captain Braid

It was a great evening for awards for the Kindersley Jr. Klippers 2009-2010 edition.  It was a large crowd that filled the Kindersley Inn on Saturday May 1, 2010.

The Klippers night was put on wiht help from many people and thank yous go out to all those involved.  The 2009-2010 Board of Directors did a great job an it was a fun event for all those involved.

The Awards:

Most Valuable Player-Andrew Dommett

Rookie of the Year- Josh Thorimbert and Jordan Hoffman

Community Involvement Award- Braeden Adamyk

Most Dedicated Player- Jesse Mysiorek

Most Improved Player- Riley Down

Scholastic Player of the Year- Josh Thorimbert

Top Scorer-Andrew Dommett

Top Defenceman Award- Kurt Leedahl

“Tim Crump Memorial” Mr. Hustle Award- Taylor Duzan

+/- Award - plus 18  Andrew Dommett and  Braeden Adamyk

3 Star Award-  1st Star Josh Thorimbert

                        2nd Star Andrew Dommett

                        3rd Star  Johnny Calkins

Hitter of the Year- Steven Turner

Coaches Award- Taylor Duzan

Playoff MVP-Johnathan Sonntag

Chuck Newmeyer Volunteer Award- Barry Andrew

The evenings highlights included guest speaker Derek Dorsett who talked about hard work and never giving up.  Rod Perkins spoke to the many people and corporations that have shown their support for the Klipper team.  This team survives as a result of the contributions of many.  Thanks went to the people from Eston who adopted the team after the rink fire in January.  Coach Wintoneak thanked many who have been involved with this team from the corporations to his staff as well as all the players and their parents for offering their boys to the Klipper organization.  Captain Jordan Braid gave his thanks to everyone on behalf of the players for their support.

We all look forward to another year of Klipper hockey and say goodbye to our 20 year olds, Kevin Clark, Steven Turner, and Jordan Braid.  We were honoured to have you here in Kindersley representing our team and our community.
